Health Professions Seminar
Offered by: Catskill-Hudson AHEC
The Health Professions Seminar is an annual educational forum targeting a wide spectrum of health professionals and support staff with rotating topics that address current healthcare needs and trends. Recent seminars have addressed issues concerning the quality of care for the LGBTQ community, cultural competency, and changes in healthcare accessibility. Past reviews have been tremendously positive, with participants highlighting the need for and importance of the topics addressed, and their intent to apply the information learned into their current health practice.
Care Coordination Training Program
Offered by: Hudson-Mohawk AHEC
Developed to address the growing needs of the region, the Care Coordination Training Program includes a series of ten modules that address health professional skill and knowledge development, including but not limited to communication and patient engagement, social determinants of care, quality improvement, and leadership development. Participants can choose to complete the entire series, or select individual modules based on their personal and professional needs.
Nursing Summit
Offered by: Catskill-Hudson AHEC
A flagship program, the Nursing Summit is an annual educational conference presented to nurse administrators and nurse educators in an effort to promote the nursing profession in New York State. The summit incorporates rotating topics and guest speakers that address critical issues and advancements in the nursing profession. Prior Nursing Summit topics have included healthcare litigation, preceptor development, nurse management, transformational leadership, and progressions in technology. Past evaluations have been tremendously positive, with 96% of participants expressing the alignment of information taught with applicable clinical practice skills.
